Bounded in the west by the Makgadikgadi National Park and to the south by vast salt pans, Camp Kalahari provides easy access to two of Botswana’s lesser-known gems. Go for guided walks with Khoi San Bushmen for a fascinating insight into an ancient culture, get up close to observe the antics of a gang of meerkats or head out on a game drive where, during the wet season, you can witness one of the largest zebra migrations. During the dry season don’t miss quad biking across the vast salt flats. Close by are some enormous Baobab trees reputed to be thousands of years old.
The camp reflects the rustic style and fun of the early explorers but with modern comforts such as hot water and flush toilets. Ideal for couples or families, the 12 spacious tents provide an authentic bush experience.
