Situated 45 minutes drive from Kasane in the Chobe Forest Reserve, the lodge sits atop an escarpment with commanding views over the river and its floodplains. Owner run and managed, Muchenje Lodge provides a personal experience with just 12 chalets. Its position further away from Kasane, ensures extensive game drives in less visited parts of the park.

Pitched timber roofs and airy open spaces all add to the ambience, whilst the swimming pool, library and viewing decks provide a place to relax after a day’s activities. As well as morning and afternoon game drives, the lodge offers night safaris giving a chance to observe less seen nocturnal animals. A river cruise is a must to observe elephants congregating on the shore for a refreshing drink. Exploring the western Chobe on foot within the Chobe Forest Reserve is one of Muchenje’s unique activities. The lodge also has close ties with a local school and Muchenje community where guest can arrange a visit.
