This contemporary style bush lodge has an idyllic delta setting on the banks of a lily-covered lagoon which is home to grunting hippos and a favourite drinking spot for elephant and buffalo. Sable Alley is located in the Khwai Private Reserve of the Okavango Delta, an area noted for its varied landscape and excellent game viewing including Lion, leopard, wild dog, buffalo, elephant and hundreds of antelope. The camp has partnered with the local communities in the region with a proportion of proceeds from staying here, going into various projects.

The 12 spacious canvas-walled suites have a private veranda offering uninterrupted views of the lagoon and the outdoor shower completes the bush experience. At night, dinner is served alfresco on the deck, whilst the circular seating area around the fire is the perfect gathering spot for a post meal drink. There is also a swimming pool and sun deck, a great place from which to watch the hippo pods and other wildlife whilst relaxing during the heat of the day.

Sable Alley is able to offer a full range of activities including morning, afternoon and evening game drives into the diverse landscapes of the reserve. There are also mokoro and boat rides through the tranquil waterways of the delta and guided bush walks along the Khwai River for a different experience.

Between April and October, a night can be booked at one of the unique Skybeds. Immersed deep in the bush overlooking a waterhole, each ‘room’ is a three-story platform, with en suite facilities on the first floor and a bed on top completely open to the stars. Wholesome food is served around the campfire or on the dedicated dining platform, to the sounds of the African bush.

Tented suites have a private veranda, safe, ceiling fan, indoor and outdoor showers and battery charging facilities.
