Sasaab’s menu takes inspiration from local Samburu people, blending local specialities with popular North African cuisine. Thanks to the lodge’s remote location, recipes are centred around the ingredients grown in Sasaab’s kitchen garden, or ‘shamba’ in Swahili.
The delicious food can be enjoyed in the restaurant, on the terrace, on private verandas or even in the bush. There is also a poolside pizza oven for a more relaxed meal and you can unwind in the bar in the evenings.
For an unforgettable experience, enjoy breakfast in the bush, when wildlife is often most active.
Sundowners at Sasaab are also spectacular. The nearby ‘Sundowner Rock’ is known locally as one of the best places for a sunset. Choose to take a leisurely 40 minute walk, ride a camel, take the short drive. Whichever way you travel, you’ll be rewarded at the top with a drink of your choice, some delicious ‘bitings’, or canapés, and an incredible view.
