After breakfast, you will be collected from your hotel and transferred to Nairobi’s Wilson Airport, where you will board your first Sky Safari flight to Meru National Park. Meru National Park is a wildlife haven renowned for its diverse landscapes and rich biodiversity. It gained international fame as the home of Elsa the lioness, featured in the book and film Born Free. Due to its remote and rugged landscape it continues to offer an exclusive safari experience for all visitors.
You will be greeted at the park’s airstrip and transferred by safari vehicle to your luxury camp. It may be possible to encounter wildlife on the way so stay alert on the journey! On arrival you will be served lunch, followed by some time to relax before your first afternoon game drive. On your return to camp you will be served dinner before retiring for a good night’s sleep.
Elsa’s Kopje Camp, seamlessly built into the curves of Mughwango Hill, overlooks the historic site of George Adamson’s original lion rehabilitation camp. Each individually styled cottage is nestled among the rocks and features a spacious bedroom, open-air sitting area, and private veranda offering sweeping views of the surrounding wilderness.

As the sun rises you will be taken out on a guided morning game drive to view the wildlife of Meru National Park at first light, This time of day is special as both nocturnal and day animals can be active. Your guide will stop in safe area for a hearty ‘bush breakfast’ before continuing through the National Park enjoying incredible wildlife sightings.
Meru National Park is famous for large elephant herds, lion and birdlife, and more diversity of animal species than most National Parks in East Africa. The park also incorporates an 84 square kilometre rhino sanctuary, making Meru one of the prime destinations to see rhino in their natural habitat.
After returning to the camp for lunch, your guide will take you out into the rhino sanctuary to increase your chances of ticking off the ‘Big 5’ in just one day! Established to protect and breed critically endangered black and white rhinos, the sanctuary has successfully increased its rhino population, allowing visitors a unique opportunity to observe these majestic creatures and other animals in an open and natural environment.
As the sun sets, your guide will stop for a traditional ‘Sundowner’ cocktail. A wonderful and serene end to a beautiful day. The game drive then continues as you return to Elsa’s Kopje for dinner.

Day 4 – Scenic Flight to Loisaba
After breakfast this morning, there will be a guided walk from the camp to the top…
After breakfast this morning, there will be a guided walk from the camp to the top of Mughwanjo Hill. The views across Meru National Park from here are truly spectacular. You should be able to see the peak of the impressive Mount Kenya from here.
Your guide will then transfer you back to the airstrip (keeping an eye out for more wildlife) for your next Sky Safari scenic flight to the Loisaba Conservancy.
Loisaba Conservancy is 227 square kilometres of wildlife reserve in the Laikipia region. It provides a sanctuary for over 260 bird species and 50 mammal species, including elephants, lions, African wild dogs, and the endangered Grevy’s zebra.
On arrival you will be greeted by local guides who will introduce you to Loisaba and then drive you through the conservancy to your luxury safari camp in time for lunch. In the afternoon you will continue your wildlife spotting on a game drive, which will end as the sun begins to set with the traditional sundowner. You will then return to the camp in time for dinner and catch up on the days activities.

Following breakfast at the camp, you can continue your game viewing on the drive back to the airstip, where your pilot and luxury Sky Safari aircraft will be waiting. Once back up in the air it is only a 90 minute flight from Loisaba to the heart of the famous Masai Mara National Reserve.
The Masai Mara National Reserve, often called “The Mara” after the Masai word for “mottled,” spans 1,510 square kilometres of rolling grasslands, riverine forests, and acacia-dotted plains. It is world-renowned for its exceptional year-round wildlife, including the Big Five, and the spectacular Great Migration, as well as the rich cultural presence of the Masai people who call this remarkable landscape home.

You will need to get up early, before dawn, to be transferred to a safe area for a balloon flight over the Masai Mara. As the sunrises your pilot will take off and you can drift across the Masai Mara spotting the wildlife below. After around an hour in the air you will land and be met by balloon staff who will prepare a bush breakfast for you, before returning you to camp. (As this activity is option there is an additional charge. Please speak your travel consultant at the time of booking).
The whole day can then be spent out in the Masai Mara following wildlife and spotting activity around the Mara River. Your guide will have a picnic lunch with him. so that you can enjoy lunch in the natural wilderness and continue your safari into the afternoon.

After breakfast this morning, you will have one last opportunity for wildlife as you are transferred back to the airstrip and your Sky Safari aircraft. Once airborne you will be able to get a birds-eye view of the Masai Mara before heading back to Wilson Airport in Nairobi.
On arrival at the the domestic airport you will be met and transferred to Four Points by Sheraton Nairobi Airport Hotel where you can enjoy the use of a day room, so that you can rest and refresh. Lunch will be provided at the hotel before you are transferred back to Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta International airport for return home or to continue your journey.
