Leave behind the bustle of the city and head for Nyeri in the tree covered mountains of Aberdare National Park. A stop will be made en route for lunch before arriving at your lodge.

The remainder of the day can be spent observing wildlife such as elephant and buffalo from the viewing deck as they emerge from the forest to drink at the waterhole.

The Ark: An iconic property in the heart of the Aberdare National Park. The Ark has four viewing areas and a ground level hideout overlooking a floodlit waterhole and salt lick, popular with elephant and other wildlife. On request, the night guard will buzz your room when lesser spotted species visit the waterhole after dark.

Descend into the Great Rift Valley today for an afternoon game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park. Look out especially for rhino, hippo, leopard, baboons and flamingos around the water’s edge. Depending on the day, either continue to Lake Naivasha, the highest lake in the Great Rift Valley, or stay overnight in Lake Nakuru National Park.
