Day 2 to 3 – Lake Nakuru

After breakfast head for Lake Nakuru via the beauty of the Great Rift Valley. After lunch…

After breakfast head for Lake Nakuru via the beauty of the Great Rift Valley. After lunch head out for a game drive into the reserve where you may be able to see the flamingos at Lake Elementaita. The following day you will enjoy a full day safari into Lake Nakuru National Park to seek out leopard, rhino and other game. Enjoy a bush picnic with spectacular views of the Lake.

Mbweha Camp is located in the Soysambu Reserve bordering the park and offers rustic lava-stone cottages surrounded by indigenous trees.

Travelling north, take the scenic route via Thomson’s falls to see its 237 foot cascade, before continuing over the foothills of Mount Kenya to arrive into Samburu National Park in time for lunch.

Elephant Bedroom Camp offers luxury tents with a beautiful setting on the banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River amongst the doum palms. The river acts as a magnet for wildlife in this semi-arid region with elephant, lion and leopard all present. Look out for the ‘Samburu special five’ species that are unique to this part of Kenya namely Gerenuk, Grevy’s Zebra, Beisa Oryx Somali Ostrich and Reticulated Giraffe.

After breakfast transfer to the airstrip for your 1 hour 45 minute flight to the Masai…

After breakfast transfer to the airstrip for your 1 hour 45 minute flight to the Masai Mara where you will be relaxing in your lodge by lunchtime and avoiding a full day’s drive. Tipilikwani is a luxury tented camp situated on the banks of the Talek River, overlooking the mottled plains of the Masai Mara.

Using the camp’s private bridge into the park, enjoy morning and afternoon game drives with no more than six people per vehicle. Famous for the annual migration of zebra and Wildebeest, the park also plays host to the all of the Big 5 as well as cheetah who thrive in the open grasslands.
