About Your Safari Lodge
Okonjima is a 55,000 acre nature reserve and home to the famous AfriCat Foundation, whose purpose is to protect large carnivores and other endangered species, notably leopard, cheetah, pangolins, and hyenas. Located near Otjiwarongo, it makes an ideal mid stop between Windhoek and Etosha, both of which are around three hours drive away.
Plains Camp plays homage to its farm origins with the Lapa reminiscent of a barn with its exposed beams and brickwork. Here you will find many of the communal facilities including the dining room, lounge and pool area. The lodge takes its name from the sweeping views over the rolling grass plains which afford frequently glorious sunsets. Guests can book a variety of activities at extra cost including leopard tracking, additional game drives and visiting the Carnivore Care Centre.
