After breakfast travel through the little settlement of Solitaire where there is an opportunity to purchase a coffee and the delightful apple pie that so many travel books mention.
Continue via the desolate Kuiseb Moon Valley to Walvis Bay on the Atlantic Ocean to visit the shallow lagoon where over 80% of African flamingos feed. Later, arrive into Swakopmund for the afternoon at leisure.
The next day is free to explore the ‘playground of Namibia’ at your own pace. With palm-lined seaside promenades and a pleasant summer climate, Swakopmund is a popular holiday destination. Relax on the beach, in one of the cafes or beach bars, or explore the rugged desert on a day tour. For the more adventurous, this is Namibia’s adrenaline capital with activities such as skydiving, quad biking and sand boarding on the dunes.
