Arrive into Windhoek and meet your fellow travellers, before heading to the lodge in the Namib Desert where the afternoon is free to relax or take part in an optional activity.

Day 2 – Sossusvlei
This morning visit the spectacular Sossusvlei where you can take the opportunity to walk up one of the dunes to admire the desert landscape beneath. You will be mesmerized by the surreal Deadvlei with its petrified trees contrasting against the white salt pan, orange dunes and blue sky. Later visit Sesriem Canyon, one of the few reliable water sources in the parched Namib Desert.

Day 3 & 4 – Swakopmund
After breakfast travel through the little settlement of Solitaire where there is an opportunity to purchase a coffee and the delightful apple pie that so many travel books mention.
Continue via the desolate Kuiseb Moon Valley to Walvis Bay on the Atlantic Ocean to visit the shallow lagoon where over 80% of African flamingos feed. Later, arrive into Swakopmund for the afternoon at leisure.
The next day is free to explore the ‘playground of Namibia’ at your own pace. With palm-lined seaside promenades and a pleasant summer climate, Swakopmund is a popular holiday destination. Relax on the beach, in one of the cafes or beach bars, or explore the rugged desert on a day tour. For the more adventurous, this is Namibia’s adrenaline capital with activities such as skydiving, quad biking and sand boarding on the dunes.

Day 5 – Damaraland
Today our journey continues through Uis past the Brandberg, Namibia’s highest mountain (2,579m), into the Damaraland, one of the least populated and most geologically diverse areas in Africa.
This harsh, rocky environment is home to the elusive desert elephant, the black rhino and free-roaming antelope species. We arrive at our lodge in the afternoon, where we have the remaining day at leisure.

Day 6 – Damaraland/Brandberg
Embark on a nature drive exploring the area. If you are lucky, you might see the elusive desert elephant. The rest of the day you can relax next to the pool or follow one of the walking trails.

Superior: Twyfelfontein Adventure Camp or similar
Day 7 & 8 – Twyfelfontein/Etosha National Park
In the cooler hours of the morning visit Twyfelfontein, a UNESCO heritage site to view the 6,000 year-old Bushman paintings, before visiting the nearby Living Museum. You will also see the Petrified Forest with its geological formations and the Welwitschia mirabilis – the oldest living desert plant on Earth.
Later, travel towards the Etosha National Park, one of Africa’s finest wildlife havens and known for its vast amount of wildlife and unique landscape.
In the morning you will head out on game drives into the park with your guide to explore the waterholes that form along the vast salt pan. These attract a large variety of game including giraffe, wildebeest, zebra, hyena, lion, leopard, oryx, as well as endangered species such as Black rhino, cheetah and black-faced impala.

Day 9 – Etosha National Park
Today head out on a morning game drive through the Park to encounter more animal species not seen the previous day.

Day 10 – Farewell
After breakfast travel southwards to Windhoek where a visit will be made to the famous wood carvers market in Okahandja or the craft market in the main street of the city. Afterwards you will be transferred to your hotel or the airport.
