When is the 2nd South Africa v England Test Match?
The second Test Match of the 2026/27 series between South Africa and England will take place from the 26th to 30th December 2026.
What stadium is hosting the Centurion Test Match?
SuperSport Park in Centurion will host the second Test Match between South Africa and England. The 22,000 capacity stadium is located in the Tshwane Metropolitan Municipality, a short drive from Pretoria,
What is the best way to get to SuperSport Park?
Although it is possible to visit Centurion from Pretoria, the majority of cricket fans will stay in the popular area of Sandton, Johannesburg. The SuperSport stadium is around 20 miles from the centre of Sandton, with the journey by car typically taking 20 to 30 minutes, depending on traffic.
We recommend using our transfer bus for attending the Test Match at Centurion. However, both Uber and Bolt apps are also readily available in South Africa. There is limited car parking available next to the stadium.
What can I do in Pretoria before or after the Test Match?
Pretoria is famous as the administrative capital of South Africa, and is nicknamed the ‘Jacaranda City’ due to the 60,000 purple blooming trees that line many of the city’s streets, flowering late-September to November.
For panoramic views across Pretoria, head up to the impressive Union Buildings, and for some of the best local food explore the stalls and trendy cafés at Hazel Food Market. Pretoria is also home to the Voortrekker Monument and Freedom Park which give insights into South African history.
Will attractions and restaurants in Sandton be open over Christmas?
While 25th December does see reduced opening hours, most tourist attractions, restaurants, and shopping centres operate normally on Boxing Day (26th December) and throughout the Test Match period. Sandton’s dining scene remains popular during this festive period.
Do I need a visa to travel to South Africa?
If you are a UK citizen, you can visit South Africa without a visa for up to 90 days for holidays. However, we always recommend you check for up to date requirements from the UK Government Travel Advice website.
What is the weather like in Centurion in December?
Late December is mid-summer in South Africa with warm, pleasant conditions. Expect daytime temperatures in Centurion to be between 20-32°C, with occasional afternoon thunderstorms that can interrupt play. Evenings are generally mild and comfortable.
What should I take to the Centurion Test Match?
Although there are some covered stands areas at the SuperSport Stadium, most seating is open air, so we would recommend bringing sunscreen, a hat and sunglasses. A light jacket may be comfortable in the morning.
The stadium offers food and beverage outlets and merchandise stalls.
Can I do a safari with the Centurion Test Match?
Yes! You can easily combine the Centurion (Pretoria) Test with a safari in Pilanesberg National Park or the dramatic Waterberg Region, both around a 2.5 to 3 hour drive.
South Africa’s world renowned Kruger National Park is around a 5 hour drive, or a 60 to 90 minute flight from Johannesburg’s OR Tambo Airport, to Skukuza (inside the park), Nelspruit or Hoedspruit. You can also fly from OR Tambo to Madikwe National Park, on the Botswanan border.
