The first and only museum of its kind. On this half day private tour you will learn a great deal about what life was like for more than 20 million people during the Apartheid years, with a mixture of film, photographs and exhibits.

Highlights
  • Visit Apartheid Museum and Carlton Tower
  • Includes transfers and guide

Description

Begin your journey with a brief visit to downtown Johannesburg where you’ll head to the top of the 50 storey Carlton Tower, the tallest building in Africa, for a bird’s eye view of this remarkable city and an introduction to its beginnings.

We then continue to the Apartheid museum, which illustrates the rise and fall of apartheid in South Africa. Large blown-up photographs, artefacts, newspaper clippings, and some extraordinary film footage, graphically animate the apartheid story. Your guide will accompany you on your walk through the various exhibits, or you are welcome to experience the museum at your own pace.
