About your safari lodge
Just one hour’s drive from Port Elizabeth, the malaria free Lalibela Game Reserve spans 10,500 hectares and offers a great diversity of wildlife including the Big 5 and other predators like cheetah, hyena and lynx. The large areas of savannah grassland sustain sizable herds of plains game including zebra, wildebeest, blesbuck and eland, which in turn support a healthy lion population.
Game drives are conducted in the early morning and again in the late afternoon to coincide with when wildlife is most active. In between safari outings, guests can enjoy their lodge’s facilities and the solitude of the bush.
Known as the ‘lodge on the hillside’, Lentaba Safari Lodge has 10 thatched chalets overlooking a wooded valley and suits couples, older families and individuals. The main building is decorated in traditional safari style, with a lounge, bar and communal dining table. On colder evenings the space is warmed with two roaring fireplaces adding to the safari ambience.
Outside there is a swimming pool to relax by and a deck with views over the waterhole which is flood-lit at night for evening game viewing. The boma completes the bush experience and offers an alternative dinner venue as well as a fire pit where guests can gather around for after-dinner drinks.
