Founded in 1685, Boschendal is one of the oldest wine estates in South Africa and surrounded by the dramatic mountainous landscape of the Drakenstein Valley. The Estate is ideally situated to explore the historic towns of Franschhoek and Stellenbosch, which are both approximately 10 minutes’ drive away.

At the centre of the estate is the historic Cape Vernacular Manor House. The Werf Restaurant is situated in the original cellar of the Manor House and focuses on presenting farm-to-table dining using the best of available local, seasonal and ethically-sourced ingredients.

Guests staying overnight enjoy access to the entire farm, including a complimentary 1.5hr guided walking tour to learn about the history of the estate as well as the current farming practices used. There are also walking and mountain bike trails to explore and of course cellar and wine tasting tours to enjoy the world famous produce.

Beautiful farm cottages with a kitchenette, BBQ facilities, fireplace, air conditioning, television and free WiFi. Orchard Cottages are located amongst the orchards 2km from the main Werf area, whilst Werf cottages are a short walk away.
