Kanonkop House in Knysna offers a wealth of facilities for a truly exceptional stay and all just a five minute drive to the shopping and local restaurants in town. Originally the owner’s family home, the intimate and personal ambience has been maintained to give guests that home-from-home feel. Kanonkop translates as ‘Cannon Head’ and historically this location was of strategic military importance guarding the lagoon entrance, but today this same elevated position provides perhaps the best views over Knysna.

There is an inviting infinity pool surrounded by attractive gardens that is heated during the colder months, whilst the contemporary designed lounge adorned with local art, provides another space for relaxation. Sumptuous a la carte breakfasts are served in the conservatory lounge, and throughout the day guests may help themselves to a range of drinks from the kitchen which includes selected spirits, wines, beers and soft drinks. Evenings can be enjoyed seated around the cosy fire at the Forest Boma.

Each of the seven suites are individually decorated with bespoke South African art. Each suite has air-conditioning, underfloor heating, smart TV, high-speed wifi, and a complimentary mini bar featuring beers, wine and soft drinks.

Luxury Garden Suites overlook the pool area at the back of the house and have a shared deck. Luxury Lagoon Facing Suites are located in the annexe off the main house and have views of the lagoon from their private balcony.
