Oceana Beach and Wildlife Reserve offers a unique Bush to Beach experience just 8km along the coast from Port Alfred. Many of the Eastern Cape game reserves are around an hour’s drive away making the perfect combination. The 740 hectare malaria-free wildlife reserve is home to over 220 bird species and 30 animals and whilst no big cats are found here, a number of unusual species can be seen including the rare and distinct Bontebok, black impala and Sable antelope.

Each day is designed around you, so whether you want to do a mid morning nature drive, take a relaxing spa treatment, enjoy a beachside picnic lunch or simply relax on your deck overlooking the Indian Ocean, the choice is yours!

The lodge sits proud in its elevated position amongst the coastal dune forest and overlooks an absolutely stunning beach that goes on for miles. Almost devoid of human beings this is the true definition of a secluded beach experience! Guests can be dropped off by 4wd at the beachside deck for a picnic lunch or even the whole day, lounging by the sand.

The swimming pool is terraced into the hillside and fed by waterfall to create an intimate space, whilst other facilities include a gym and games room. The dining room presents a gourmet experience of fine food complemented by a well-curated wine selection, and the bar offers a great venue for pre or post dinner drinks with an expansive terrace offering 180 degree panoramic views.

There are just 9 private suites, each with a large bathroom, air conditioning, television, mini bar and free WiFi.

The Lodge Suites are located in the main building and have four poster beds, lounge area a private deck with ocean views. The bungalow style Ocean Suites have a large deck offering 180 degree views over the reserve and beach. Pool Suites are located furthest away from the communal areas for privacy and have the added indulgence of a private heated plunge pool and outdoor fire pit.
