At the end of the train, the Observation Lounge’s picture windows frame the ever-changing scenery outside, whilst the Club Car and Lounge are a great place to enjoy drinks and afternoon tea with your fellow travellers. The elegant Dining Car hosts guests in a choice of two sittings with silver service, crisp linen and exquisite cuisine, complimented by excellent wines. During the day the dress code is smart-casual, whilst dinner is the time to dress to impress with more formal attire.
This afternoon, check-in at the Blue Train VIP Lounge at Cape Town Station where you can enjoy pre-departure snacks and drinks. Your butler will then usher you to your suite in time for the train to depart at 12:00.

Continue through the stark beauty of the semi arid Karoo en route to Kimberley for an off-train excursion to the Open Mine Museum. Your guide will show you some of the historical exhibits, before visiting the impressive 215 metre deep crater known as the Big Hole. It was here that from the 1870’s, diamond prospectors carved out one of the largest hand-dug excavation in the world. On your return to the station, a glass of sherry will be waiting, before the train continues on its journey.

After travelling overnight, enjoy breakfast at your leisure as the train approaches Pretoria. The Jacaranda City as it is known, bursts into purple bloom late in the year.
At approximately 18:00 your magical journey comes to an end. Your butler will direct you to the arrival lounge.
