The standard lodge rooms at Aquila Private Game Reserve offer comfortable, no-frills accommodation that ticks all the essential boxes for a memorable stay at Aquila Game Reserve.

Each room features twin beds that can be converted into a king-size bed to suit your needs, alongside an en-suite bathroom with a shower.

You’ll find all the basic amenities required for a comfortable night’s rest after your safari adventures, though do note that in keeping with the authentic bush experience, rooms don’t include televisions or telephones. All the rooms do have a Wi-Fi connectivity.

Whilst these rooms don’t overlook the reserve itself, their convenient location more than makes up for it. Positioned close to both the restaurant and mezzanine bar, you’re just moments away from excellent dining and socialising opportunities.

Safari Game Drives

The most popular activity at Aquila Game Reserve are the daily game drives, where guests are transported through the reserve with an expert driver/guide.

The game drives usually take place twice a day, one in the morning, to capture the early light and animal activity, and then again later in the afternoon, as the animals become more active again, after resting during day.

Aquila Game Reserve doesn’t offer night game drives drives, but there are guided stargazing opportunities during the evenings.

For a unique perspective on the African bush, it is possible to swap one of the scheduled game drives for a horseback safari through Aquila’s vast 10,000-hectare Karoo reserve. Available daily at in the morning and afternoon (subject to availability and weather conditions), these guided rides offer an adventurous way to get closer to nature.

No prior riding experience is necessary. Led by two qualified game rangers who’ll ensure both your safety and an unforgettable experience, it’s an opportunity to explore the reserve at a gentler pace whilst still encountering wildlife in their natural habitat.

If you’re after an adrenaline rush, it is possible to trade one of your game drives for a quadbike ride and explore Aquila’s rugged 10,000-hectare reserve.

Running daily in the morning and afternoon (subject to availability and weather conditions), these thrilling excursions let you navigate the Karoo terrain at speed whilst still enjoying incredible wildlife encounters.
