Less than an hour’s drive from Skukuza Airport, Jock’s is positioned at the confluence of two (often dry) river beds. The area is noted for its abundant wildlife including leopard, wild dog and hippos and it is not uncommon in the dry season to see elephant digging in the sand to find water. Within the concession, no other game vehicles are allowed, ensuring a private game experience with the added bonus of walking safaris that are not allowed in the surrounding Kruger Park.

This luxury lodge combines colonial elegance with a flavour of Africa and takes its name from the book ‘Jock of the Bushveld’ which recounts the adventures of Sir Percy Fitzpatrick and his faithful dog through the pioneering days of the gold rush.

In between game drives relax on the comfy day bed of your sala, watching wildlife in the dry river bed below, or cool off in your private plunge pool. Alternatively enjoy the facilities which include a spa, library and pool. For a special experience, you may choose to sleep outside in your sala, listening to the sounds of the bush all around you.

Fitzpatrick’s at Jocks is just a short drive from Jock’s and is ideal for families or groups of friends. There are three rooms, two of which have been enclosed to create a two bedroom family unit sharing a foyer, deck and plunge pool, whilst an additional room is completely private and also has its own plunge pool.

Your stay at Jock Safari Lodges includes daily game drives, guided bush walk and high tea.

Each thatched suite is very private and spacious. On the outside deck there is a plunge pool, outdoor shower and bathtub and a sala overlooking the riverbed. Inside the rooms have air conditioning, minibar, safe and en suite facilities.
