The intimate Marataba Mountain Lodge boasts five suites perched above Waterfall Valley. Each room is a tranquil blend of Scandinavian design and African influences, but really its the surrounding landscapes that do the talking.

Each air-conditioned room has a wood-burning fireplace and a private terrace, a spacious king or twin beds and an en suite with a rain shower.

Game Drives – On thrilling game drives, you’ll navigate terrain from rocky outcrops to open grasslands. You can track the ‘Big 5’ safari animals, as well as giraffe, zebra, crocodile and incredible birdlife. There is a remarkable population of black rhino at Marataba, alongside rare species like brown hyena, cape vultures and pangolin.

Bush Walks – Truly immerse yourself in Marataba’s incredible landscapes on a bush walk. Learn about the reserve’s smaller, but equally fascinating, ecosystems, and enjoy amazing wildlife sightings.

Rhino Conservation – Be a part of vital conservation work alongside specialist veterinary teams. Fit rhinos with tracking collars, collect samples and learn about these incredible animals.

Stargazing – Within the remote Waterberg region, there is little light pollution, making for phenomenal stargazing. A field guide will point out constellations.

Photography Workshops – The perfect way to capture your safari, you can utilise the camera and lens rental scheme, or simply take on some expert advice about wildlife photography using your own equipment. Your photos can even be printed on site.

Community Experience – Visit the local Sentrum Community Learning Centre to learn about its work providing education to remote communities.
