Perched on a rocky outcrop in the southern central region of the park, Serengeti Pioneer Camp affords stunning views of the plains. Also in sight are the picturesque boulder landscapes of the Moru Kopjes, an area with historical significance due to the ancient Maasai paintings and ‘musical’ Ngong rock which the Maasai used for communication over the centuries.

The lodge is well placed to witness the calving season during January to March when many thousands of wildebeest are born. This in turn attracts the predators such as Lions making for great game viewing opportunities. A full-day game drive can reach this area before returning to the peace of camp.

The camp’s style harks back to the nostalgia and adventure of the 1930’s safari but with all the modern day conveniences expected of today’s discerning traveler. Part of the prestigious Elewana Collection, Serengeti Pioneer camp has just 12 tents for an intimate experience, all tastefully decorated in safari heritage style and coming with a personal room attendant to look after your needs.  The views from the bar and lounge are spectacular, providing a memorable place for a sundowner.
