After breakfast, fly to the Serengeti where you will stay at either Elewana Serengeti Pioneer Camp (typically Jan-May) or Elewana Migration Camp (typically Jun-Dec). The choice of camp will be made in advance based on which location will provide the optimum game viewing opportunities, however both camps benefit from good year-round resident game.

This afternoon, enjoy a game drive to seek out this world famous National Park’s game, followed by dinner under the stars on your return to camp.

Elewana Serengeti Pioneer Camp: Perched on a rocky outcrop in the southern central region of the park, this luxury camp is in a prime location for the calving season. During January to February an estimated 400,000 wildebeest calves are born which in turn attracts large numbers of predators. The camp is styled to evoke the romanticism of the 1930’s safari but with modern amenities.

Elewana Serengeti Migration Camp is positioned in the north-central region and lines  the banks of the Grumeti River. This region witnesses the migration sometime between April to Jun and again in late October to December. The spacious tented suites are elevated on platforms with large wrap-around verandahs that afford 360 degree views of the bush.

OPTIONAL Shared Hot Air Balloon Safari
There is an option in the morning for a sunrise hot air balloon safari over the African plains, followed by a breakfast in the bush and return to camp.

After breakfast you will spend a full day exploring the vast Serengeti. Even outside the migration period the Serengeti can still offer great game viewing with herds of buffalo, elephant, giraffe, and numerous variety of antelope present. Resident populations of lion stalk the abundant plain grazers, whilst solitary leopards hide out in the acacia trees lining the rivers. More elusive predators and scavengers can also be seen in the Serengeti including jackal, spotted hyena and even the aardwolf and serval cat.

This evening return to the camp for a bush dinner under the stars.
