Puku Ridge takes its name from a slightly elevated area within the South Luangwa National Park which offers stunning views over the floodplain. The 90 minute transfer from Mfuwe airport involves a game drive for the second half of the journey, immersing you quickly in the magic of this park.

The Luangwa River is close by, but right in front of the lodge a waterhole provides some great close-up game viewing. The communal areas of the lodge include an open-sided dining and lounge area decorated in a contemporary safari style, which spills out onto an expansive deck punctuated by large ebony trees and positioned to take in the glorious views.

Your safari experience includes incredible walking safaris; a sensory and exhilarating adventure where you will traverse through different landscapes accompanied by your guide. There are also 4wd game drives with the afternoon option culminating in sundowners and a night drive back to the lodge aided by red filtered spotlights to aid sightings of nocturnal creatures.

The 8 luxury suites all offer magical views over the floodplain from their elevated position. They are partially tented and have the luxury of air conditioning in addition to ceiling fans. There is a spacious bathroom with bathtub and both indoor and outdoor showers.

An outside staircase leads up to the roof of the unique observation ‘tower’ and here awaits your four poster Star Bed should you wish to spend a night under the stars. Back on ground level, the deck has split levels with a dining area and plunge pool, all taking in those magnificent views.
