About Your Hotel
Zanzibar Serena Hotel was created by restoring two historic buildings, namely the 19th century Extelcoms building and the 18th century “Chinese doctor’s residence”. The original architecture of these buildings and their decorative finishes inside and out have been sympathetically restored. Inside you will find old clocks, crystal chandeliers and carved staircases making it seem like an Aladdin’s cave of treasures.
There is a wonderful pool deck overlooking the sparkling sea and the hotel runs a free shuttle to their exclusive Mangapwani beach hideaway just up the coast. This makes a great combination with one of our other resorts on the East Coast.
