Your Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive in Calgary

Arrive in Calgary for the start of your big adventure. After checking into your hotel, you have the rest of the day and this evening to explore your surroundings. Tomorrow morning, you will need to rise early to meet with your guide, you will be hitting the road at 7.30 am, so get a good night’s sleep.

Day 2 & 3: Banff National Park

Boot up and breathe in the crisp alpine air with the resident Marmots, bears, porcupines and elk. Whether you explore Banff National Park from the road or on the trails, you’ll be left speechless by its endless beauty. With 1600 km of trails, a town full of heritage and some incredible wildlife, you won’t want to leave this mountain wonderland. One of the more popular trails in the park is the Sundance Canyon Trail, a laid-back walk past rolling hills and flowing streams and through narrow canyons. You may choose to ride the gondola to the peak of Sulphur Mountain, or for something really special, take a scenic glacier flight. End your active day with a recharge in Banff’s heavenly hot springs.

Day 4 & 5: Glacier National Park

If scenic ice-carved valleys, wildflower meadows and hikes beside turquoise lakes don’t get you snap-happy in Glacier National Park, then we don’t know what will. With over 26 glaciers throughout the park and animals such as Grizzly Bear, moose, elk, mountain goats and marmots all living here, there’s nothing not to love about this wonderful place. This crown of the continent is not to be missed if you love adventure and epic scenery!

Day 6: Montana

Driving across Montana you’ll be awestruck by the untamed, rugged and wild landscape of this unbelievable part of the US. Montana’s blessed with alpine meadows, glinting lakes and soaring peaks. If you can tear your eyes away from the stunning scenery flying past your window, make the most of quality van time to get to know your Trek buddies – we find card games are a great ice breaker!

Day 7 & 8: Yellowstone National Park

Heading out of Montana into Wyoming, the scenery just keeps getting better as you reach Yellowstone National Park. View explosive geysers including Old Faithful, bubbling mud pools, colourful waterfalls, petrified forests and the lush Lamar Valley while exploring the world’s oldest and most famous national park. There’s an abundance of wildlife here so have your camera at the ready and if you’re lucky you may spot bison, elk and bear. For the ultimate wildlife spot, keep your eyes peeled for wolves, as these beautiful creatures roam the park in packs. There’s no doubt about it, the next few days in Yellowstone National Park will be awesome!

Day 9 & 10: Grand Teton National Park – Jackson

Next up are the wonderful views and hikes in the majestic Grand Teton National Park. With few foothills to speak of, the jagged peaks rise like teeth from lush, flat meadows against a bright blue sky. Coupled with beautiful pristine lakes, this national park does nothing but impress. Catch a ferry across Jenny Lake and hike up to Inspiration Point; the name is no exaggeration and the hike will keep you smiling as you cross glacial moraines and meadows filled with colourful wildflowers. You’re not the only one walking the trails, so remember to keep an eye out for Grizzlies along the way.

Day 11: Strawberry Park Hot Springs

Back on the highway, those rising mountain tops rarely slide from sight. Colorado, here we come! If all the excitement gets a little too much for you, some chill-out time at the nearby Strawberry Park Hot Springs is included before you head back to camp.

Day 12 & 13: Rocky Mountain National Park

No matter what time of the year you’re here, you’ll be left awestruck at the majestic mountain tops that surround you. It doesn’t matter what level of fitness you have, there are heaps of trails for you to enjoy, from peaceful hikes around a mountain lake to more challenging uphill trails. With so much wildlife here, it is very unlikely that you’ll go home without seeing something special, even if it’s just an adorable little chipmunk. Spend two nights in the stunning Estes Park surrounded by the Rocky Mountains and enjoy the unbelievable vistas the park has to offer.

Day 14 & 15: Colorado Rockies

The Colorado Rockies are the ultimate adventure paradise, so get out there! An included mountain biking tour with a local guide is a great way to see the best of the area. You’ll enjoy mind-blowing scenery, take in interesting facts about the surrounding area and of course enjoy some adrenaline pumping action. Hiking in the craggy scenery will leave you feeling inspired as you walk some of the world’s most loved hiking trails.

Day 16: Monument Valley

From one iconic place to the next, this time in the form of red rock and desert, it’s Monument Valley. One of the most recognisable landscapes in America, you’ve officially entered the land of the real ‘Wild West’. Marvel at the sight of towering buttes and mesas which dominate the view and immerse yourself in the Navajo culture with an optional 4×4 guided tour of this awesome place. As the sun goes down continue to be amazed at the stunning starry night sky as you sit around a campfire.

Day 17 & 18: Grand Canyon National Park

Now it’s time for the ultimate showstopper, the mighty Grand Canyon National Park. Hike the Bright Angel Trail to Indian Gardens or Plateau Point for a view from deep in the canyon. From sunrise to sunset this incredible national park is mind blowing. Whichever route you decide to take, the views will leave you speechless. But, if you really want to be blown away, jump on an optional helicopter ride and view the canyon from above, there really is no experience like it.

Day 19: Las Vegas

With a sudden burst of neon, Vegas is right in your face – there really is nowhere else quite like it! You’ll be spoilt for choice here in Sin City. Indulge in an all-you-can-eat buffet, take in a show or just watch the amazing crowds, neon signs and attractions that many hotels have to offer. And if that’s not enough, stay on after the tour and opt for a ride in a super-stretch limo or take a helicopter flight down The Strip. This will no doubt be one heck of a night to remember.
