Day 2 – Set Sail From Seattle
You can have a relaxed breakfast at your hotel before making your way to the cruise terminal for an early afternoon departure from Seattle’s Pier 91, at Smith Cove.
Once onboard, explore your floating home for the next week and get acquainted with the ship’s amenities before heading to the upper decks for departure. As the ship glides through the sheltered waters of Puget Sound, marvel at the panoramic views of Seattle’s skyline giving way to forested islands and the snow-capped Olympic Mountains on the horizon.
As evening approaches, prepare for your first dinner aboard ship in the elegant main dining room, where you’ll be treated to Holland America’s renowned cuisine. Cap off your first night with live entertainment in one of the ship’s theatres or join fellow passengers at the sail-away celebration on deck as you begin your journey north toward the wilds of Alaska.

Day 3 – Scenic Cruising
Settle into the rhythm of life at sea as your Holland America cruise continues its northern journey through the pristine waters of the North Pacific. Today you’ll cruise west of the remote Haida Gwaii archipelago (formerly the Queen Charlotte Islands), a mystical chain of over 150 islands known as the “Galápagos of the North” for their unique ecosystem and rich Indigenous heritage.
Keep your camera ready as you may spot whales, dolphins, and seabirds in these nutrient-rich waters, while the distant, mist-shrouded peaks of the coastal mountains create a dramatic backdrop. The ship’s naturalist will be on hand to share insights about the marine life and the fascinating history of these waters, once home to ancient Haida settlements.
As evening falls over the vast Pacific, dress elegantly for formal dinner in the main dining room, followed by a spectacular Broadway-style production in the ship’s theater or live jazz in one of the intimate lounges

Day 5 – Glacier Bay National Park
Have your binoculars and camera ready as you cruise through Glacier Bay to the mile-wide Margerie Glacier, where you may have a chance to witness ice calving.
This area is also known for its abundant wildlife, with humpback whales frequenting the icy waters and brown bears patrolling the wind-swept beaches.
Whilst you’ll probably want to spend most of the day on deck, do make sure to join the onboard presentation from a local Huna Tlingit guide about the ecology and geology of Glacier Bay, and why it’s critical that wild lands remain forever wild.
Late afternoon, you will stop at Icy Strait Point, where there is a variety of optional activities available, including kayaking, whale watching, and cooking in a wild kitchen.
