Your Itinerary

Day 1 - Welcome to Las Vegas

You begin your exploration of California’s National Parks in Las Vegas today. This evening you will be  meeting your Travel Director and fellow travellers for a welcome reception. When all together, you will start the adventure by soaring 550 feet above the centre of the Las Vegas Strip on the High Roller, the world’s tallest observation wheel.

Day 2 - Mammoth Lakes (via Death Valley)

You will be immersing yourself in the solitude and desolation of Death Valley on your way to Mammoth lakes today. Admire scenic views of the undulating rocky landscape at Zabriskie Point where you will learn about the valley’s unique geological features, history and intriguing weather patterns. You will also descend below sea level to the Badwater Basin, noted as the lowest point in North America. After lunch at 1849 Buffet at The Ranch at Death Valley, continue through the desert landscape of Death Valley ascending to Mammoth Lakes, your home for the night.

Day 3 - Yosemite National Park

This morning, take a scenic Gondola ride to the peak of Mammoth Mountain to enjoy the stunning views whilst you enjoy a tasty breakfast. After breakfast, you will almost be able to touch the clouds as you pass through the Tioga Pass and enter the UNESCO-listed Yosemite National Park. Travel down into the valley where you will be able to visit Yosemite’s famous landmarks: El Capitan, Cathedral Rocks, and Bridal Veil Falls.

Day 4 - Yosemite National Park

Today is your opportunity to explore this wonderful National Park, famed for its giant, ancient sequoia trees, flower filled meadows and epic rock formations. You’ll get the opportunity to join a Park Ranger to delve into the natural history, flora and fauna and learn about the people who found sanctuary in these tranquil emerald-green surrounds over the centuries. Driving past Tenaya Lake and Tuolumne Meadows, you will journey to Yosemite Valley where you’ll embark on a special valley floor tour. The rest of the day is then free to go for a walk or hike and take in the breathtaking beauty of Yosemite.

Day 5 - Kings Canyon and Sequoia

Today starts with a visit to Kings Canyon where you can get out and stretch your legs a bit. You’ll have time to get a birds-eye view of the Kings Canyon, and take a walk through Grant Grove to gaze upon the worlds second largest tree, The General Grant – it’s thought to be over 2000 years old.

After a wander around here you’ll continue along the Majestic Mountain Loop where towering redwood trunks frame your journey to Sequoia National Park. Tonight will be spent here surrounded by forest and soaring Sierra peaks. This evening will be spent looking upwards at the star-spangled sky as a naturalist guides you through the constellations.

Day 6 - Sequoia National Park

You’ll be treading in the footsteps of giants today as you walk beneath the soaring sequoia canopy to see first-hand the world’s largest living tree, General Sherman. Whilst here, you’ll get to enjoy a leisurely walk along the Big Trees Trail and learn about the Giant Forest and its history during a stop at the Giant Forest Museum.

Immerse yourself in the pioneer history of the Old West at lunch today. You’ll be joining a living-history reenactor who will tell you stories of early life in the mountains. After lunch, the rest of the afternoon is yours to explore the park on your terms, using the complimentary shuttle system.

Day 7 - Los Angeles

Travel to Los Angeles, where you’ll stroll down Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills, considered America’s epicentre of luxury, fashion and lifestyle. As your invigorating encounter with California’s epic natural beauty comes to an end,  join your Travel Director and newfound friends for a final farewell dinner.

Day 8 - Farewell from Los Angeles

Today a transfer is provided to Los Angeles International Airport, or you could choose to extend your stay here in the ‘city of angels’.
