Cattle Drives – Learn how to roundup the longhorns like a true cowboy, getting them into the arena where you’ll have a chance to practice your roping skills so that the calves can be checked over.

Overnight Pack Trip – Enjoy an adventurous ride up to the top of Black Mountain, where you’ll spend the night in a backcountry pack camp.

With over 150 horses on the ranch, the wranglers will help you to find your perfect match, who you’ll be riding during the whole of your stay.

Archery & Shooting – Take aim with target practice at the shooting range.

Rafting – Enjoy an afternoon riding rapids on a white water rafting trip. If you’d rather stay on the ranch, you can enjoy a relaxed trail ride instead.

Arts & Crafts – Create a souvenir to take home after your adventure.

Stampede – Enjoy some evening entertainment as you watch the locals descend on the arena for calf-roping practice, and watch the horses stampede.

Black Mountain Ranch’s log cabins are cosy but spacious. With either up to three bedrooms and two bathrooms, a covered porch and a sitting area with a log burner, there is plenty of space to unwind after a busy day out on the ranch.

The ranch suites are similarly cosy, with the option for a cosy studio suite, or a loft suite, with three single beds above the master bedroom. A great option for families or couples, suites have a modern, private bathroom, and access to a hot tub on the deck.

Black Mountain Ranch is full board, with breakfast served at 8:30am, lunch at 12:30pm and dinner at 6:30pm, but just listen for the bell!

Meals are hearty and served family style, with events like a welcome barbecue, dinner rides, and meals cooked on the campfire to make your experience especially memorable.

Saloon – Head to the saloon for a drink and a game of pool, and watch the sunset from the patio. You can often catch live music here too.

Swimming Pool – Perfect for the summer months, sunbathe on the poolside or go for a dip.

Hot Tubs – Unwind with a beverage in hand, and soak in the views.

Campfire – Share stories of your day, and enjoy food and drinks under the stars, around the warmth of a campfire.

‘Jake’s Lake’ – The perfect way to cool off after an active day of riding and activities, the lake is set within beautiful evergreen forest, just outside of the ranch complex.
