This quirky boutique hotel in the Warehouse and Arts District is an excellent base for really getting under the skin of the real New Orleans. Bourbon Street and the New Orleans Convention Centre are three and four blocks away respectively and a short walk will take you to the city’s top dining, shopping and nightlife.
All the rooms have a unique and stylish décor – some have exposed original warehouse brickwork, characteristic ceiling beams and hard wood floors – all are spacious and feature the work of local art students. The lobby features a rotating art gallery and inspired by the building’s heritage, is also a Chandlery stocked with items from local and regional designers.
If you’ve had a busy day exploring this extraordinary city and have decided not to go out for dinner, the hotel’s own restaurant serves are an intriguing blend of Caribbean, English and Italian dishes designed by a TV chef, Nina Compton.
