Terms & Conditions

You must be between 25 and 79 years old (21-24 years old only with prior authorisation). All drivers must be identified and authorised upon pick up of the vehicle. On collecting your motorhome, you will be asked to sign the hire company’s own terms and conditions of hire making the rental subject to a direct contract between each driver and the hire company. A basic refundable security deposit of $1500 USD (bond increased for Burning Man and Race Across America hires) and the use of a credit card to pay for all local charges and deposits are required at departure. Upon vehicle return, all extra charges are balanced against the security deposit and a credit will be issued to cover the refund.

Standard Hire Includes
Premium VIP coverage, public liability insurance, tax on all pre-paid items, daily rate, convenience kit (includes: sleeping, cooking and cleaning equipment and a GPS), vehicle preparation fee and on the road support.

Hire Excludes
Mileage charges, generator usage, optional extras, one-way fees and security deposit ($1500)

*COVERAGE SUMMARIES – USA DEPARTURES

Premium VIP coverage includes secondary comprehensive and collision coverage for the rented vehicle with a deductible of US$1,500 per incident. Coverage includes but is not limited to:

• Accidental damages to the vehicle (renter’s or 3rd party’s fault),
• ‘Uninsured Motorist’ in case the renter is involved in an accident with a non-insured driver,
• Vehicle theft and fire (personal property and items in the vehicle are always excluded),
• Windshield & glass damage
• Vandalism

Public Liability Insurance
The Public Liability Insurance covers accidents in the event that the renter is at fault. The policy protects the rental company up to US$ 1,000,000 and the renter to Statutory Limits (State mandated minimum liability coverage).

Length of Hire
Minimum rental is 7 nights. 14 nights when choosing the ‘All Inclusive’ option.

Cleaning fee
The client is responsible for returning the vehicle with the interior clean and holding tanks dumped. The vehicles exterior does not require cleaning by the customer. Cleaning and dumping charges apply as posted at the drop-off location.

Vehicle substitution
If for any reason the booked vehicle should not be available Road Bear RV reserves the right to substitute a higher-rated vehicle at no additional cost. Should a lower-rated vehicle be substituted the Road Bear RV liability is limited to the refund of the gross rate difference of the two vehicles.

Travel Restrictions
Coverages are invalid if problems occur in the following areas and all recovery expenses are at the client’s own cost. Violations of these restrictions void damage waivers and the client will be held liable for all vehicle damages including to tires, towing charges and other related expenses as a result of a breakdown associated with operating in these areas. Clients should consult the Renter Assistance Guide and the departure location personnel for complete information on travel restrictions and local circumstances at the time they collect their motorhome.

Mexico
Travelling into Mexico is not permitted.

Death Valley
Travelling into Death Valley is not permitted between 1st June and 30th September.

Others
Travelling on any private, gravel, dirt or logging roads and other non-public roads, beaches, etc. and in the Inner city of New York, Montreal and Quebec City (Canada) is not permitted.

Alaska
Travelling within Alaska, Yukon and Northwest Territories is permitted as long as Road Bear RV has been advised at the time of booking.

Burning Man Festival
Anyone planning to attend Burning Man is required to advise the intention at the time of reservation as special terms & conditions apply to all Burning Man attendees.

Road Bear RV will hold the customer responsible for disregarding these restrictions including accidents, mechanical breakdowns and thefts occurring in a travel restricted area!
