Day 2 – Montgomery
After picking up your motorhome, it’s an easy 2.5 hour Interstate drive into Alabama for your first night in the State Capital, Montgomery.
Day 3 – Mobile
Heading for New Orleans but you need a break. Mobile, Alabama, seems like a good place and the Shady Acres Campground will offer a warm welcome.
Day 4 to 6 – New Orleans
Heading for the historic, gracious and unique city of New Orleans: the birthplace of jazz. You can walk from The French Quarter RV Park into the heart of New Orleans. The wonderful restaurants, world famous music and nightlife might make you extend your stay here in the ‘Big Easy’.
Day 7 – Jackson
North now into Elvis country. It’s a long ride to ‘Elvis Town’ so we are breaking the journey just south of Jackson, Mississippi – another State Capital.
Day 8 – Tupelo
Leave the freeway traffic and take the very scenic Natchez Trace bound for Tupelo, Elvis Presley’s birthplace and home town until the age of thirteen. It’s worth a visit to Elvis’s birthplace and the museum dedicated to his life.
Day 9 to 10 – Memphis
Drive a couple of hours north through the Holly Springs National Forest to Memphis. Where better to stay than within walking distance of Graceland, Elvis Presley’s home. The Memphis-Graceland RV Park & Campground is located on 19 acres just off Elvis Presley Boulevard behind Elvis Presley’s Heartbreak Hotel.
