Welcome to Denver, Colorado! After making your way to your hotel, head out to explore the ‘Mile High City’, with its iconic Rocky Mountains backdrop. Denver is making a name for itself on the food and drink scene, meaning there’s a great choice of restaurants in Lower Downtown and at Denver Pavilions, as well as craft breweries and rooftop cocktail bars in the hip Highland district.

You will be met at your hotel this morning, for the short drive to Denver’s 38th/Blake Station. Feel the excitement build as your board the Canyon Spirit, for your luxurious rail journey through the US southwest. Created by the masterminds behind the Rocky Mountaineer, you can expect the same luxury experience that has become synonymous with the railway.

Crossing the Continental Divide, soak in the spectacular views of rugged canyons and the mighty Colorado River that surround you. Enjoy breakfast and lunch onboard, meet your fellow rail travellers and learn about the regions fascinating history and geology from your Onboard Hosts.

Arrive in the peaceful resort town of Glenwood Springs in the afternoon, where you will spend the night.

Breakfast and lunch

After a restful night’s sleep, your journey aboard the Canyon Spirit continues, departing Glenwood Springs and crossing the Colorado-Utah border. Enjoy a hearty breakfast on board, as mountain views give way to the iconic red sandstone landscapes of the Beehive State. The train will then pull into the quaint town of Moab, the gateway to Arches and Canyonlands National Parks, and your home for the night.

You’ll be transferred to your hotel and have the rest of the afternoon and evening at leisure.

After a relaxed morning in Moab, your journey continues with a transfer to Thompson Springs, where you’ll board the train again. Enjoy a late lunch followed by dinner as expansive views of towering rock formations pass your window. The route winds through Castle Gate and the dramatic Price River Canyon, climbs historic Soldier Summit, and passes through the storied Thistle Tunnels before continuing beyond Provo. By evening, you’ll arrive in the heart of Salt Lake City, where an overnight stay awaits.

Depart in the morning after breakfast and begin your journey from Salt Lake City toward Torrey, Utah. Along the way, stop for lunch in Green River before continuing on to explore the unique rock formations of Goblin Valley State Park. The route then leads through Capitol Reef National Park, where you’ll take in its striking landscapes, before arriving in Torrey in the late afternoon for an overnight stay.

Depart Torrey in the morning after breakfast and travel along Scenic Byway 12, one of America’s most scenic roads, en route to Bryce Canyon National Park. Stop for lunch before spending time at the park’s iconic viewpoints, where you’ll see its colorful landscapes and distinctive hoodoo formations. Continue on to Springdale, Utah, the gateway to Zion National Park, arriving in the evening for an overnight stay.

Depart Springdale in the morning after breakfast and spend time exploring Zion National Park using the park’s shuttle system. After lunch, travel west to Valley of Fire State Park to see its striking red rock formations and ancient petroglyphs.
