After collecting your car this morning, jump on to Highway 1 and drive south to Monterey. Known as the sardine capital of the Western Hemisphere, here the old sardine factories have been converted into quaint restaurants and boutiques. This area called ‘Cannery Row’ was made famous by the author John Steinbeck and still remains an amusing place to explore.
