Touchdown in Miami in the afternoon and collect your car, before heading to Little Havana. Explore the wealth of Cuban restaurants, shops and galleries and enjoy some live music.
Check into your hotel in Miami’s South Beach, a particularly beautiful area with the white sand beaches contrasted by pastel-coloured Art Deco buildings. You may like to spend the evening watching the sunset from a beachfront bar, or sample some fresh seafood, with local specialities like stone crab claws, ceviche, or grilled fish prepared with Caribbean flavours.

Day 2 – Miami to Key Largo
Set off on the Overseas Highway, taking in the miles of panoramic ocean views. Make your first stop at the John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park. Best enjoyed from the water, spend the day exploring the extraordinary coral and marine life.
There are lots of watersports on offer, so you can opt to take a kayaking tour through the mangroves, or take a glass bottom boat trip for incredible views of the coral. Snorkelling and scuba diving is also particularly spectacular, with the chance to spot sea turtles and dolphins.
After checking into your hotel, wander into Key Largo to sample some local seafood, before finishing the evening enjoying some live music at Snappers Oceanfront Bar.

Day 3 & 4 – Explore Key Largo
Spend the next two days exploring Key Largo, taking in its natural beauty and experiencing the Keys’ laid-back lifestyle.
The island boasts several state parks and nature reserves. Spot some incredible bird species on the nature trails at Crane Point Hammock, or even treat yourself to a free fish pedicure. As the name suggests, Crocodile Lake National Wildlife Refuge is home to the endangered American crocodile, as well as hundreds of plants and animals, which you can learn about at the visitor’s centre.
Explore Key Largo’s beautiful beaches, like Harry Harris or Far Beach. Simply relax on the pristine white sands, go for a dip, or try your hand at some watersports, including parasailing, paddleboarding, jetskiing and kayaking.
The Florida Keys are famed for their sunsets, and what better way to experience it than a sunset cruise. Experience the Florida Bay at its most magical, learn about the Keys’ incredible ecosystems, and go in search of some incredible marine wildlife, like dolphins and manatees.

Day 5 – Key Largo to Key West
As you head down to Key West make a stop on Islamorada, a stunning island in the Middle Keys. Morada Way Arts & Cultural District is great to explore, with a 6 block corridor of galleries and studios, bars and restaurants. The History of Diving museum is also worth a visit, telling the story of man’s attempts to explore under the sea.
Check into your Key West hotel, then explore Duval Street, the best way to experience the culture and nightlife. The street is lined with lively restaurants and bars, and unique galleries and gift shops. And don’t forget to check out the Southernmost Point Buoy, which is just a block away.
As the sun goes down, head to Mallory Square, where there is a nightly celebration, with music and acts including jugglers and sword swallowers, putting on a night of entertainment.

Day 6 & 7 – Experience Key West
Continue to explore Key West over the next two days. A great way to take in the sights is with an Old Town Trolley Tour. Either opt for a themed tour, or the hop-on-hop-off ticket, so you can take it at your own pace.
Be sure to visit the Hemingway House, to learn about the interesting past of the famous author and his time in the Keys. Climb to the top of Key West Lighthouse for panoramic views of the island.
Another great way to experience Key West is taking a food and walking tour of the city. Explore the historic district, sampling some local favourites along the way. Your local guide will also give you great recommendations for the rest of your stay.
From Key West you can also catch the ferry to Dry Tortugas National Park, boasting incredible views of the historic fort, overlooking a pristine beach and nature reserve. Take a day trip, and explore the island on foot, go snorkelling or diving.

Day 8 – Goodbye to the Keys
Bid farewell to the Keys, and make your way back to Miami International Airport, enjoying the final views of the Overseas Highway.
