Your Itinerary

Day 1 - Welcome to Los Angeles

Arrive in Los Angeles for the start of your Western Visions self drive tour. Home to the rich and famous and the iconic Hollywood sign, Los Angeles is the entertainment capital of the United States. A city brimming with culture and happenings, this electric metropolis has many regions with distinct flavours and communities.

Day 2 - Las Vegas (271 miles)

Depart Los Angeles this morning and make your way west toward Las Vegas. This wonderful city of bright lights and endless entertainment has something for everyone; from the outrageous live shows to the excitement of casinos, the action doesn’t stop from morning to night. To be at the heart of the action head towards the famous Las Vegas ‘Strip’; it’s here you’ll find the largest of the hotels and casinos including the iconic Bellagio Hotel with its dancing fountains. For a different side of Vegas, historic Fremont Street features shops, restaurants and casinos.

Day 3 - Bryce Canyon (via Zion National Park) (249 miles)

Drive away from the hustle and bustle of Las Vegas towards the relative serenity of Zion National Park. This hikers paradise famous for its slot canyons or ‘Narrows’, has a variety of trails and paved pathways for explorers of all skill levels but if hiking isn’t your thing, there is also a complimentary shuttle system that runs throughout the park. By utilising this, you can visit the Zion’s major attractions including the Emerald Pools, Weeping Rock and Angels Landing. After a bit of exploring in Zion, head out of the park and on to Bryce Canyon where you will spend the night.

Day 4 - Lake Powell (163 miles)

Spend this morning in the wonderful Bryce Canyon National Park. This impressive landscape of spectacular geological formations and brilliant colours will take your breath away. To enjoy the park at its best rise early and make your way into the canyon to embark on one of the many walking trails ranging from easy 1 mile loops to challenging 11-mile adventures.

After some time in the park, get back to the car and move on to Lake Powell. A body of deep blue water surrounded by -red cliff walls, Lake Powell is home to magnificent Rainbow Bridge, the largest natural bridge in the world.

OPTIONAL EXPERIENCE – Canyons Adventure Cruise
Canyons Adventure Cruise is a 2.5-hour tour that encompasses both Navajo and Antelope Canyons for a truly ‘best of the Southlake’ experience. The cruise includes an excursion through twisting Antelope Canyon, and a great view of Glen Canyon Dam. But the highlight is Navajo Canyon and its beautiful Navajo Tapestry laden walls. Navajo legend tells us that the colours were formed by the blood of a monster killed in this region.

Day 5 - Grand Canyon (145 miles)

This morning you will embark on a three-hour boat tour to Navajo Canyon before leaving Lake Powell behind and driving to mighty Grand Canyon National Park. The overwhelming size and brilliant colours of the Grand Canyon easily make it one of the natural wonders of the world. As you head into the park you will come across an assortment of viewing areas all offering panoramic views of this natural wonder. There are many paved walkways along the rim that can easily be reached by car.

Day 6 - Laughlin (286 miles)

After some more time exploring the Grand Canyon this morning, depart for Laughlin. This charming town is perfect for an overnight stay; here you will find some great shops and restaurants and plenty of opportunities for some relaxation.

Day 7 - Los Angeles (280 miles)

Today is yours to explore the City of Angels. After departing Laughlin, drive to Los Angeles where you can shop the famous Rodeo Drive, have lunch in Venice Beach and wander along Santa Monica Pier, once known as the finish line of legendary Route 66.

Day 8 - Los Angeles

Today you may choose to spend more time discovering the glitz and glamour of Hollywood or you could make your way to the neighbouring city of Anaheim and visit the “Happiest place on earth”, Disneyland home to your favourite characters like Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck. Here you will find entertainment for the young and the young at heart.

Day 9 - Farewell from Los Angeles (21 miles)

Today is the end of your Western Visions self drive. You can depart at your leisure to Los Angeles airport, or you can choose to extend your stay in this wonderful city.
