Fell the excitement build as you arrive into the Jakarta International Airport, where you will be met and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is yours at leisure, to relax after your flight or explore the local area.



Day 2 – Jakarta & Bogor
Today features a drive past the National Monument and Presidential Palace and a visit to the National Museum. Onward to the northern part of town to Fatahillah Square in Old Batavia and to Sunda Kelapa, a traditional harbour, to see Phinisi (Bugis schooners).





Day 3 – Bogor & Puncak Highland
Explore Bogor Botanical Garden with a thousand species of exotic tropical plants. Continue onward to Puncak Highland, a vast sea of undulating green hills filled with tea plantations. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant.





Day 4 – Around Bandung
Start early with a drive to Ciwidey, through strawberry fields until Situ Patenggang, a tranquil, serene lake often covered in mist. Continue to visit Kawah Putih a crater with snow-white spring water. On the way back to the city, you see rolling hills and tea plantations.
In the afternoon, spend the time watching the famous and unique traditional wooden doll puppet theatre known as ‘wayang golek’ and the ‘angklung’ bamboo orchestra, as well as the classical Sundanese gamelan and dances. Visit the old city of Sandung, exploring the areas of Braga and Asia-Afrika.





Day 5 – Yogyarkarta
Travel by Executive Train from Bandung to Yogyakarta and enjoy lush green scenery as you travel near the mountainous Bandung region.
The remainder of the day is yours to explore the cafes and the charming atmosphere of the town. The city is famous for being the capital of Javanese art, a place where the streets hide workshops where you can get your hands on some truly wonderful souvenirs.





Day 6 – Borobudur
Get up early and watch the sun appear over the horizon at Borobudur. As the mist begins to lift, the sun scales the surrounding volcanoes and terraced fields, and highlights the stone reliefs and the many faces of Buddha – a truly enlightening experience!
Visit Pawon and Mendut Temple which are positioned on an imaginary straight line with Borobudur. Enjoy free time in the afternoon.





Day 7 – Yogyakarta
Hop on board a 3-wheeled becak (a traditional Javanese rickshaw) and cycle to the Royal Palace in Yogyakarta, known as the Keraton and one of the centres of Javanese Culture. You will be invited to walk around the King’s Palace, see some of the official clothing collections and valuable relics and objects of Yogyakarta’s sultanate. We will continue walking to the Tamansari Water Castle, site of a former royal garden of the Sultanate of Yogyakarta built in the mid-18th Century.
Later, visit Kotagede, a traditional suburb of Yogyakarta known for its maze of narrow streets, lined with tiny, traditional silversmith shops and mosaic-tiled houses. Our last visit will be prambanan temple, built in the 10th Century, this is the largest temple compound dedicated to Shiva in Indonesia.





Day 8 – Mount Bromo
Leave Yogyakarta by Executive Train to Mojokerto, before continuing the journey by car through Java’s heartland, passing endless teak forest and lush countryside towards Mount Bromo. Mount Bromo derives its name from the Javanese pronunciation of Brahma, the Hindu creator god.





Day 9 – Kalibaru
Set your alarm! At 03.00 depart by Jeep to Mount Penanjakan on the rim of the Tengger caldera to view one of the most spectacular sunrises you will ever see. From the summit admire the magnificent panorama from 2,700 metres.
After breakfast back at your hotel, drive to Banyuwangi with a stop for lunch at a local restaurant on the way. Upon arrival at Kalibaru, enjoy some free time.





Day 10 – Kalibaru to Ubud
We’ll show you coffee, clove and cacao trees, as well as the process to refine coffee and brown sugar. See a traditional dance from the local kids, who may ask you to dance with them. Cross over to Bali via ferry crossing Ketapang – Gilimanuk. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant on the way.





Day 11 – Ubud
Start your Ubud tour with Tirta Empul Temple, known as Holy Spring temple, and then Gunung Kawi Bali, the oldest Hindu temple in Ubud. After lunch, visit an Instagram-worthy rice terrace at Tegallalang village. Visit Ubud Monkey Forest, a small conservation area in the centre of town. In the evening enjoy a farewell group dinner with a Balinese dance performance.





Day 12 – Farewell from Ubud
Enjoy some free time in the morning before transferring to the airport for your onward flight. Ask your consultant if you would like to extend your time in Indonesia at the beach or another island.

Welcome to Jakarta
