Day 1 & 2 - Ubud
Catch your first glimpse of Bali as your plane comes into land at Denpasar Airport, where you will be met for your transfer to your chosen Ubud hotel, around a 1 hour 30 minute journey.
Ubud is a cultural haven, set amongst the the simply stunning landscapes of the Central Highlands of Bali. During your two night stay there are artesian markets to explore, the Ubud Royal Palace and Tegenungan Waterfall. A trip to the sacred Monkey Forest is also a ‘must’ as well as a visit to the widely photographed Tegallalang Rice Terrace – even more breathtaking in real life. For the active, the hilly, 9 km Campuhan Ridge Walk is a wonderful way to see the Balinese countryside and local villages.
Day 3 to 9 - Sanur
After breakfast, you’ll be met at your hotel for the scenic drive from Ubud to you chosen hotel in Sanur, your beachside base for the next seven nights.
Sanur is a relaxed and welcoming town, with bars and restaurants catering for all tastes, along the main street, Jalan Danau Tamblingan, and overlooking the Bali Sea.
The Sanur coastline comprises a collection of beaches, stretching for 8 km between the mangrove forests of Southern Denpasar and Padang Galak to the northeast, which is popular with surfers and home to the famous Bali Kite Festival each July.
There’s great snorkelling and diving in the area, with colourful corals accessible from Sindhu Beach and around the island of Nusa Lembongan, to which several dive centres offer day trips.
If you can tear yourself away from the beach, two of Bali’s most famous temples are within an hour’s drive; Pura Luhur Uluwatu perched on the clifftops of the Bukit Peninsula, 70 metres above the sea, and Tanah Lot, an ancient Hindu shrine on a rocky outcrop, truly magical to visit at sunset.
Day 10 - Farewell
This morning, you will be collected from your hotel for the short drive to Denpasar Airport and flight back to the UK, on which you can start planning your next South East Asian adventure!
