On arrival in Sandakan you will be met and transferred to your hotel for an afternoon at leisure.

Day 2 – Selingan Island
This morning, after breakfast, board a boat for the short cruise to Selingan Island. Once you have checked in, there is time to swim and snorkel or simply soak up the sun. In the evening you’ll be called to witness the fascinating spectacle of turtles coming ashore to lay their eggs. You may be lucky enough to see some little ones being released for their first journey into the sea.

Day 3 – Sepilok
It’s time to bid farewell to the island and its turtles and head back to Sandakan after breakfast. On arrival take a city tour showing you the water village, central market and Buddhist temple. After lunch transfer to Sepilok Nature Lodge where you will spend the evening.

Day 4 – Sepilok Region
After breakfast visit Sepilok Orangutan Sanctuary where you will take a boardwalk tour through the forest to witness orphaned primates feeding. After, cross over the road to the Borneo Sun Bear Conservation Centre to learn about the rehabilitation and release of the world’s smallest bear species. Continue through scenic countryside to your lodge for a late afternoon river cruise in search of wildlife.

Day 5 – Sukau
Wake up early to the calls of nature this morning! Take an early morning cruise up to the Kinabatangan River to experience the wilderness of Borneo; marvel at the birds and primates on their early morning adventures. Return to the lodge for breakfast.
The afternoon is free to explore the surrounding areas or nearby village. In the late afternoon take a boat cruise along the river to see many species of flora and fauna of the rainforest. If you’re lucky you may see the famous Proboscis Monkey swinging from the trees! Return to the lodge for dinner.
After dinner, there is a night cruise for more opportunities to observe the wildlife.

Day 6 – Mount Kinabalu Area
After breakfast, head off towards the Mount Kinabalu area, where you’ll spend the night at the Sabah Tea Garden. En-route stop at Kg Luanti for Fish Massaging and learn about the tagal fish conservation.
After lunch, check in to your room and spend the rest of the day at leisure. You may participate blowpipe and batik painting at Sapaon Recreational Area or relax before dinner at Tea House.

Day 7 – Kota Kinabalu
Wake up early today for a walk to see the sunrise over Mount Kinabalu and the surrounding tea plantations. After a tea factory tour, continue on to Poring Hot Springs where you can take a dip in the hot sulphur springs, before a canopy walk 100-200 feet above the forest floor.
Continue to Kinabalu Park for a guided nature trek along one of the many trails, offering a fascinating insight into the fauna and flora of Borneo, before heading to the city of Kota Kinabalu for an overnight stay.

Day 8 – Kuching
After breakfast, you’ll be greeted by a local guide who will take you on a city tour. The city, formerly known as “Singgahmata” or “the Place where the Eye Lingers”, has risen from the destruction of the last world war to become a vibrant and modern city that still retains its traditional charms. The city has many places of interests such as the Wisma Tun Mustapha (Sabah Foundation Building), Sabah State and City Mosque and the Sabah Museum, for the historical and cultural aspects of the indigenous people.
After the tour, head for the airport where you’ll fly to Kuching, the largest city in the state of Sarawak. On arrival, you will be greeted and transferred to your hotel for an afternoon at leisure.

Day 9 – Batang Ai
Depart for Batang Ai, 166 miles from Kuching City, passing through scenic countryside consisting of quaint little towns, villages, padi fields, pepper farms and oil palm plantations. Interspersed throughout the region are vibrant jungles. As the road starts to wind and undulate as you go deeper into the interior. Stop for lunch at Lachau, a small town on the way to Sri Aman.

Day 10 – Sri Aman
After breakfast travel to the Hydro Lake and board a motorized native longboat and journey to the Ukom traditional Longhouse where you’ll have a blowpipe demonstration and cultural performance. After lunch (either at the Longhouse or by the riverbank) take a short jungle walk and then travel back to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 11 to 13 – Kuching
This morning travel back to Kuching for a final three night’s relaxation beside one of Borneo’s fine beaches.
