Your Itinerary

Day 1 - Yangon

Welcome to Myanmar! Arrive at Yangon International Airport where your private vehicle will transport you to your hotel for check-in. Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 2 - Mandalay & Mingun

Start early with a morning flight to Mandalay. Upon arrival into Mandalay, hop on a cruise and head down the Ayeyarwaddy River to Mingun and visit Settawya Pagoda, built in 1811. Explore the Flower Market and buy some flowers to donate in a flower offering ritual. Visit Mingun Bell, Hsinbyume Pagoda, and Shwenandaw Monastery, once the home of King Mindon.

Continue to Kuthodaw Pagoda, the ‘world’s largest book’ before heading up Mandalay hill to watch the sunset over Mandalay.

Day 3 - Mandalay

head off after breakfast to observe a bronze casting workshops at Tampa Waddy between Mandalay and the ancient capital Amarapura. Buddha images, bells, gongs, tri gongs, and other figures such as nats (spirits) are cast here. Continue to the iconic U-Bein bridge spanning the Taungthaman Lake, and Magandayon monastery, home to 1,000 monks.

After marvelling at the U-Bein bridge, head across the Ayeyarwaddy River on a local ferry and visit Innwa (Ava) by horse-cart ride. You will visit Maha Aungmye Bonzan Kyaung, Bagaya Kyaung and Bagaya monasteries before crossing the Sagaing bridge to Sagaing Hill. Visit Soon U Ponya Shin Paya and U Min Thounzeh Pagodas and enjoy a panoramic view of the sunset at Sagaing Hill.

Day - Mandalay to Bagan

Before we leave Mandalay, enjoy a walking tour to Thu Ye Zay, a colourful one-of-a-kind local produce market located on the train tracks. Leave Mandalay behind and head to the terrace of Popa Mountain Resort, a perfect vantage point to enjoy views of Mt. Popa, and of Taungkalat itself. In the afternoon, drive to Bagan, visiting villages along the way. En route, shortly after passing Nyaung-U, stop for an interesting visit at “Paing” roadside shop. Enjoy a free evening in Bagan.

Day 5 - Bagan

Today’s walking tour starts with a visit to the most significant pagodas and temples of Bagan. Stop at a popular lacquerware workshop producing a variety of handicrafts. In the late afternoon, enjoy a horse-cart ride to a place where you can enjoy a magnificent sunset with views over Bagan’s vast temple area.

Day 6 - Inle Lake

After breakfast, transfer to Nyaung U airport for your flight to Heho, and then to your hotel for check-in. In the afternoon visit the Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda, stopping at several workshops on and around the lake. Learn about cheroot (Burmese cigar) making and a boat building workshop. Finally, stop at Inn Paw Khon village and visit one of the many silk & lotus weaving workshops.

Enjoy the rest of the day exploring the small shops and restaurants around town.

Day 7 - Inle Lake

Head off today and glide through narrow channels in a canoe and tour Kaylar village in the middle part of Inle Lake, famous for its floating gardens where villagers mainly live on fishing and farming. Ride the long tail boat to visit Nga Phe Kyaung, a monastery famous for its extensive collection of Buddha images made of different materials, and in various styles and sizes.

In the afternoon, travel by long-tail boat to the western shore of the lake to Indein jetty and visit the beautiful Alaung Sitthou area (Indein Temple Complex). Take time to explore the stupa complex itself and take some exquisite photos of this unusual place.

Day 8 - Yangon

After breakfast, transfer to Heho airport for your flight back to Yangon. Visit Bogyoke Aung San (Scott) Market and explore the heart of downtown at a leisurely pace, enjoying the best of colonial Yangon. Arrive at the bustling Chinatown with its many shops and stalls offering every commodity one can imagine.

The highlight of the day will be visiting the iconic and unforgettable Shwedagon Pagoda with its golden stupas, monks, and local worshipers. Return to your hotel in the afternoon and enjoy a free evening.

Day 9 - Farewell
