After breakfast head down to the river to begin a relaxing riverboat trip with your guide on the mighty Mekong to visit the famous and sacred Pak Ou Buddha Caves. En route it is possible to stopover at Ban Thin Hong weaving and fishing village, where you have an opportunity to interact with the locals and learn about rural Lao life and handicrafts. You are welcomed in the village with the special, traditional Laotian Baci ceremony.

Then continue to the Pak Ou caves which are home to many thousands of Buddha images that were placed here by local people since 16th century, since King Setthathirat found the caves and declared them a holy spot. After exploring the caves begin the journey back to Luang Prabang town for lunch.

Next begin the 30 minute road journey out of Luang Prabang town to visit Kuang Sii Waterfalls. Pass through scenic countryside with rice paddies and many villages along the way. You can visit the ‘Bear Rescue Centre‘ where they conserve the black bears before arriving at the falls for a refreshing dip in the falls. These beautiful falls cascade over many calcified tiers and down several hundred feet into a series of cool, turquoise pools. The water here has a clear blue-green tint due to the high mineral content.
