Your Itinerary

Day 1: Beijing

On arrival at Beijing airport, transfer to your hotel where you will meet up with the rest of your group.

Hotel: Jiangxi Grand
Meals: 1 Dinner

Day 2: Beijing

Today walk through Tiananmen Square to the Forbidden City, which is the largest and best-preserved collection of ancient buildings in China. This afternoon, visit the Temple of Heaven before an evening meal tasting including the delights of Peking Duck.

Day 3: Beijing

Start early this morning to avoid the crowds at the Great Wall and, after an introduction to its unique history, there will be free time to explore. Marvel at the human ingenuity that created this 4,000 mile structure and enjoy panoramic views of the countryside. After lunch, continue on to the Summer Palace with its extensive park and lakes.

Day 4: Xian

Fly to Xian where, this afternoon, a visit is made to the beautifully preserved City Wall, before a delicious feast of traditional Shui Jiao dumplings and a performance of Tang Dynasty dancing. The next day visit the Terracotta Warriors which amazingly were only discovered in the 1970s by local farmers. Spend the morning viewing the enigmatic ranks of life-like warriors. Later take a three hour bullet train ride to Chengdu.

Day 6: Chengdu

Today meet the Giant Pandas at Dujiangyan Panda Base. Located in the forested Sichuanese countryside around one hour’s drive north of Chengdu, Dujiangyan offers refuge to this most iconic of Chinese animals with the aim to reintroduce them back into the wild. Later return to Chengdu and soak up the atmosphere on lively Jinli Street, before enjoying a typical Sichuan meal this evening.

The next day visit the famous Panda Conservation Centre, where you can learn more about China’s celebrated bear with a walking tour. Later, visit Matchmaker’s Corner where you can watch parents search for suitable suitors for their children, and visit a traditional tea house where you can
try traditional Chinese tea

Day 8 : Farewell

After breakfast there is time at leisure before transferring to the airport for your onward flight.
