On arrival into Terengganu airport, you will be met and transferred to the beautiful Tanjong Jara Resort for a three night stay. Facing a crescent-shaped beach of golden sand, the resort offers a secluded hideaway and is designed to reflect the elegance of a 17th century Malay palace.

Your time here has been kept free so that you can simply relax and enjoy the hotel facilities, or arrange some excursions to explore this fascinating and diverse region. You could observe fireflies on a mangrove cruise, trek through the jungle to a waterfall, visit the Kenyir elephant village or experience authentic Malay life on a bicycle tour through a fishing village.

Every year between May to September green turtles come ashore to the beaches in the region to lay their eggs and the resort runs a hatchery to protect these. Guests have the opportunity to discover more about the lives of these majestic creatures, with informative talks and the chance to get involved with nest inspections by day, and if fortunate, to witness the emergence of hatchlings by night.

This morning transfer to Merang Jetty for a 45 minute speedboat ride straight to the hotel on Redang Island. Taaras Beach Resort has a beautiful setting in a sheltered bay against the backdrop of jungle clad hills.

The island lies within the Terengganu Marine Park and is renowned for its crystal clear waters, white sandy beaches and tropical fish that inhabit the numerous reefs making it ideal for snorkelling and diving. In this colourful underwater world, you may get the opportunity to see schools of jacks, fusiliers and trevallies, black tip reef sharks, cuttlefish, turtles and lots more.
