Asia Rail Holidays 2025 & 2026

Rather than flying over South East Asia, opt to travel through its incredible landscapes, on a rail holiday. Embrace a slower pace of travel, travelling on a luxury sleeper train, or gain authentic experiences on a guided rail tour.

Eastern & Oriental Express

Possibly one of the most iconic rail journeys in Asia, the Eastern & Oriental Express has released new itineraries, departing from Singapore and travelling through Malaysia.

In your choice of sleeper cabin, you will travel in sheer opulence. The Eastern & Oriental Express boasts on-board fine dining, an elegant Piano Bar, and even a Dior Spa. With a panoramic Observation Car, take in the views of the lush Malaysian rainforest and the striking coastlines.

The Wild Malaysia route takes you from Singapore, into the Malaysian jungle at Taman Negara National Park, then up to colourful Penang Island. Alternatively, on the Essence of Malaysia route, you will travel up Western Malaysia, all the way to Perlis.

The Vietage

Embark on a luxury railway adventure through the spectacular scenery of Central Vietnam aboard The Vietage, by Anatara. The Vietage journeys between Da Nang, Quy Nhon and Nha Trang, passing through lush landscapes and allowing you to explore some of Vietnam’s most characterful cities.

Aiming to reignite the romance of train travel, watch the world go by from your comfortable window seat, enjoy gourmet dining or a beverage in the on-board bar, or even indulge in a head or shoulder treatment in the spa. The comfortable cabins will be transformed to a sleeper booth for the journey from Quy Nhon to Danang.

SJourney

Viewed as a pioneer in luxury train travel, the SJourney traverses the beautiful landscapes of Vietnam in pure sophistication. Wind your way from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City (or vice versa), on a 7 night rail journey, offering unique excursions and experiences on your way.

SJourney’s route follows the iconic S-shaped geography of Vietnam, showcasing its rich culture. Follow the Trails of Emperors in Hue, discover the ancient town of Hoi An and explore the striking sand dunes in Phan Thiet, amongst other excursions.

Thai-Burma Railway

The Thai-Burma Railway, more commonly known as the ‘Death Railway’, holds a poignant history. Built by the Japanese in 1943, to complete the rail link between Bangkok and Burma, it remains a symbol of remembrance. Experience this historic journey for yourself, with a choice of day tours and overnight stays, each taking you over the infamous Bridge on the River Kwai.

Travel from Bangkok to Kanchanburi, where a three-day rail adventure takes you through the rugged jungle of Erawan National Park. Alternatively, take a day trip to the bridge and the Thai-Burma Railway Museum and gain a deeper understanding of its role in the Second World War.
