Begin your journey at Woodlands Station, Singapore, where you will board Belmond’s Eastern & Oriental Express. Settle into your elegant cabin, and take in the lush, green landscapes of the Malaysian jungle as you begin your journey.
Enjoy afternoon tea from your cabin, then head to the Dining Car for fine-dining and evening entertainment.

Day 2 – Taman Negara to Kuala Lumpur
Watch the views of the Jungle Railway pass you by as you tuck into a delicious continental breakfast. After lunch, you’ll arrive at Merapoh, where you can choose from a range of off-train excursions in Taman Negara National Park. Formed over 130 million years ago, Taman Negara is one of the oldest tropical rainforests in the world.
Venture into the forest to explore the habitat of critically endangered Malayan tiger. Although you are not expected to see any, learn about these amazing creatures and meet local activists working to safeguard its future.
Alternatively, take a nature photography tour, accompanied by a local photographer and a conservationist, teaching you all about the area’s wildlife and how to capture it.
Another excursion on offer takes you around the area’s magnificent and otherworldly caves, on an e-bike tour.
If you’re after a slower paced experience, opt for the wellness excursion, involving sunrise yoga, forest bathing and sound meditation.
Following your chosen excursion, return to the train for a delicious dinner and evening entertainment in the Piano Bar Car.

Day 3 – West-Coast Line to Penang
Enjoy breakfast on the train, before alighting for the crossing to Penang Island. Experience Malaysia’s cultural melting pot with a choice of exciting excursions.
Art lovers can explore George Town Old Quarter on the back of a Vespa. Your guide will take you on a tour of the architecture and take you to visit some local artists
If you’d rather visit George Town at your own pace, take a trishaw, accompanied by a driver and a map, and wind through George Town’s colourful streets.
Foodies can embark on a culinary adventure, taking a tour of the local spice and grocery stores, before taking a Peranakan cooking class.
Re-join the train at Butterworth for lunch, and perhaps indulge in a luxurious treatment at the on-board spa. Your next stop is the characterful city of Ipoh, the former tin capital and the gateway to the Cameron Highlands.
Spend the evening enjoying dinner and entertainment on board.

Day 4 – Johor to Singapore
Enjoy your final breakfast on board as you travel through the southernmost state of Johor. Take in the final views of the rainforest and beaches, before train then crosses the straight to Singapore, where your journey comes to an end.
