Is Elephant Hills Chiang Mai Ethical?
Elephant Hills Thailand offer ethical elephant safaris that are designed around the welfare of the elephants. Many of Bush Camp’s star residents were rescued following the ban of using elephants in the logging industry.
During your stay, you will be given the opportunity to feed the elephants, having prepared them a nutritious, fruit-based meal. You may also get the chance to see the unforgettable spectacle of their morning wash.
You may touch and have photos taken with the elephants, but, due to ethical reasons, Elephant Hills Thailand do not offer elephant rides. However, the camp has been praised for offering a much more unique and higher value experience to guests, allowing visitors to gain a much deeper understanding of the lives of the elephants and the mahouts, and benefitting all parties involved.
Guests’ interactions with the elephants are limited to around two hours, allowing the graceful pachyderms to spend most of the day roaming freely.

Elephant Hills Bush Camp offer one and two night safaris, with activities, meals, accommodation and transfers included.
The perfect addition to any Thailand holiday, the overnight Bush Camp safari includes:

Elephant Hills Tented Camp Accommodation & Facilities
Elephant Hills Bush Camp offer 20 luxurious safari tents, with either comfortable double or twin beds. The tents can accommodate up to 4 adults, or a family of 5. Rooms are well-equipped with a modern en-suite, coffee and tea making, and a private balcony.
Within the camp, there is a restaurant boasting spectacular views, a camp reception, and an infinity pool overlooking the River Ping and the mountain range. WiFi is available throughout the camp, and in the tents.
Getting to Elephant Hills Chiang Mai?
Elephant Hills Bush Camp is located around 2 hours away from Chiang Mai airport, in a beautiful remote location, giving you an authentic experience of the North Thailand wilderness. Situated on the River Ping, nestled on the mountainside, Bush Camp offers incredible views.
Your stay at Elephant Hills Chiang Mai includes a complimentary transfer from your Chiang Mai Hotel, or Chiang Mai airport. The mini-van fleet features comfortable, air-conditioned vehicles, and private transfers can also be arranged, as per your request.
