This morning, you’ll be collected from either your hotel or Phuket or Surat Thani Airport, for a scenic drive through rural Thailand in an air-conditioned mini-van to Elephant Hills.

A delicious buffet lunch with a variety of traditional Thai dishes awaits you and there will also be time to settle into your luxury tent.

Appetite satisfied, your adventure truly begins with a guided canoe trip along the Sok River. Gaze up at the breathtaking limestone peaks of Khao Sok National Park and look out for hornbills flying across the water and reptiles sunbathing on the banks.

Back on land, it’s time for you ethical elephant encounter. The sanctuary cares for rescued animals, including those abandoned by the logging industry, and you’ll get to witness the unique bond the mahouts who work on site share with their charges.

You will prepare a nutritious, fruit-based meal and feed it to an elephant yourself, then get to watch them bath in their mud-pool before heading back into their free roaming enclosure to enjoy life as it should be for an elephant.

This evening’s entertainment includes a movie presentation, dance performances and cooking demonstration. Then drift off to sleep to the sounds of the jungle.

Rise to see the mist slowly clear from the rainforest canopy, then enjoy breakfast at your leisure.

This morning you will visit a local market in Takhun, before taking a traditional longtail boat trip on Cheow Lan Lake to your home for the night at the floating Lake Camp.

After a relaxing lunch, head into the jungle with an expert guide to learn about the wonderful variety of tropical hardwood trees, orchids, palms, ferns and bamboos that grow in the National Park. Look up and you may just spot a gibbon or macaque swinging through the branches, or brightly coloured butterflies floating from plant to plant.

This evening watch the sunset across the lake from your deck in front of your tent, before dinner.

Wake to the sound of gibbons, calling from the tree tops, then perhaps enjoy an early morning swim before breakfast.

With your group you’ll then kayak to through some of the smaller channels of the Cheow Lan Lake, an experience as far away from the nine-to-five as is possible.

Enjoy a final, farewell lunch before your transfer to the airport or your next destination.
