The journey from Chiang Mai takes about three hours and includes beautiful mountain scenery along the way. After arriving in Chiang Rai, you’ll continue into the countryside to visit Yao and Akha hill tribe villages with the opportunity to witness the fascinating lifestyles of these ethnic groups that make a living from the land.

Next, you’ll drive to Chiang Saen and the fabled Golden Triangle area where a hilltop vantage point provides you with a spectacular view over the mighty Mekong River as it joins with the Ruak River and forms a “Triangle” with Laos, Myanmar (Burma), and Thailand. Lunch is served at a local restaurant before returning to Chiang Mai.
