Bordering the Khao Phra Thaeo National Park, the Phuket Elephant Sanctuary offers a home for retired working elephants who have previously worked in the logging and tourism industry. As the first ethical elephant tourism experience in Phuket, they rescue sick, injured and old elephants, welcoming them back into their indigenous habit. As the priority of the sanctuary is their wellbeing, no riding, shows or bathing takes place.

Pick-up from your hotel and take a scenic drive through local villages to the Phuket Elephant Sanctuary. Your visit starts at the Observation Platform where you will be shown a presentation, before feeding the elephants their baskets of bananas, pineapples and cucumbers, all the while learning from the guides about each elephant’s background.

Afterwards, watch the elephants walk into the jungle from the observation Salas where they have the freedom to express their natural behaviour, from bathing and playing in the pond to socializing with each other. Enjoy a delicious vegetarian Thai buffet at the Tree Top Reception platform with time to relax and enjoy the tranquility of the sanctuary. After lunch, return to your hotel.
