This morning you will be picked up from your Bangkok hotel and then drive with the rest of the group to Kanchanaburi. On arrival, visit the Thailand-Burma Railway Centre, an interactive museum dedicated to preserving the history of the railway. Then it’s on to the Allied Prisoner of War Cemetery, a memorial to the thousands of lives that were lost during the construction.
The tour continues to the famous bridge over the River Kwai, a part of the ‘Death Railway’ constructed by Allied POWs during World War II. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant then continue to Hellfire Pass Memorial. Here you will see the railway cutting through the hills that was particularly challenging to build for the POWs as well as the excellent visitor centre.
End the day with a longtail boat ride past jungle scenery up to your choice of hotel. River Kwai Resotel is located on the river bank and offers bungalow style accommodation, or alternatively the unique Floathouse offers rustic ‘villas’ that float on the river.

Day 2 – Kanchanaburi to Bangkok
After breakfast, check out of the hotel and take a boat ride to a nearby Mon Tribal village where you will observe the traditional way of life with visits to Golden Rock, Buddha Image Cave and the village school. A short walk on a jungle trail takes you to a stunning viewpoint of the river.
After lunch, take an afternoon journey on the historic ‘Death Railway’ train. The journey will last approximately 1.5hrs and include travelling over the Wang Po Viaduct and through lush mountainous landscapes. At Kanchanaburi station, disembark the train and board your coach which will take the group back to Bangkok, arriving early evening.
