When is the best time to visit Phuket?
With temperatures rarely dipping below 24°C, Phuket is a destination that is warm year-round. December to March are considered some of the best months to travel; with sunny blue skies, calm waters, and temperatures of up to 35°C. These are also the most popular months on the island, with accommodation prices slightly higher and typically more tourists at the local attractions.
April is the hottest time of year in Phuket, however it’s easy to stay cool as this is also the month of Songkran, an annual water-throwing festival that marks the beginning of the Thai New Year. It’s a buzzing time to be on the island, though near impossible to stay dry!
The south-west monsoon begins in May and lasts through to October, bringing with it higher levels of rainfall and humidity. Though these are some of the wettest times to travel, they can also be some of the cheapest and offer visitors a chance to experience the islands top attractions with seldom other people by their side.
For those who love snorkelling and diving, the months of November through to April are the best, with good water visibility and calmer waters. The Similan Islands are one of the best nearby spots to view Thailand’s colourful coral and abundant marine life.
How long should my Phuket holiday be?
However long you spend in Phuket is entirely up to you! This vibrant island has enough to keep you entertained whether you want to stay 5 days or 25.
There’s no doubt Phuket makes for a fantastic holiday destination on its own, but for those looking to discover more of Thailand, we can create a multi centre itinerary that takes in more of the country’s top cities and sights.
Similarly, Phuket can also be combined with the Middle East or South East Asia for a longer worldwide adventure; some of our most popular pairings include Singapore and Phuket and Dubai and Phuket.
Can I book for 2025 or 2026?
To secure the best hotels, tours and experiences throughout the island, we would recommend booking as soon as possible to ensure you get the holiday you’ve been dreaming of.
Booking early also comes with its perks; many of our suppliers offer early bird discounts, and flight prices are often cheaper when they are first released. Your Travel Consultant will be sure to look out for the best price for you.
