Your Itinerary
Day 1 - Bangkok
At Bangkok’s Hua Lamphong station, board the gleaming carriages of the Eastern & Oriental Express where your steward will show you to your elegant cabin. In the teakwood observation car enjoy the views of the sun setting over the lush landscapes of Thailand, before indulging in a delicious meal prepared by the onboard chefs. Later you may wish to head to the bar for a nightcap, whilst being entertained by the pianist, before retiring to your cabin which has been converted into a cosy bedroom.

Day 2 - River Kwai
After breakfast disembark in the town of Kanchanburi for a choice of two tours. The Classic includes a guided visit to the River Kwai Bridge and Thai-Burma Railway Museum. The Local Flavours tour explores the market, a rice noodle house and combines a raft cruise with a cooking class. Afterwards, return back to the train for lunch and the afternoon at leisure.

Day 3 - Kuala Kangsar
Head over the border into Malaysia where the landscape gradually changes to limestone mountains jutting up from the rice fields. Relax in the observation car with fellow guests before arriving at Kuala Kangsar where you will be taken by coach into the countryside for a choice of tour. Choose between a village experience where you can sample regional food and browse local handicrafts, or a hill trek visiting the plantations and taking in the views. Rejoin your train later and continue your journey through the countryside.

Day 4 - Singapore
Enjoy the passing scenery of palm plantations and traditional villages from your cabin or the lounge, before crossing the causeway into Singapore around lunch time. You might like to extend your stay for a few nights to enjoy this surprising city – a contrast of east and west, ancient and modern. Alternatively you can be transferred to the airport for your onward flight.

Your Choice of Cabin
Pullman Cabin
A sofa by day is converted into lower and upper berths by your steward ready for when your return from dinner. A ladder accesses the top berth. There is an en suite shower room. Also come in singles with just a lower berth.
State Cabin
In addition to Pullman Cabin there is double the floor space with a sofa and armchair by day. During dinner your steward converts them into two lower beds. Double the window space for watching the scenery.
Presidential Suite
Similar to State Cabin but a slightly larger room and en suite bathroom.
Departs on selected dates January to April and September to December.
